Building power for young Georgians
Our Movement
The Georgia Youth Justice Coalition first formed in January 2021 as a grassroots collective of Black, brown, LGBTQ+, working class, and allied students advocating for youth power and justice in our state. Our early work emerged from a mass movement led by students for fair maps and fair budgets for Georgia's children and families.
Since then, we’ve activated youth communities, shifted the political narrative, incubated movement leaders, built power, and won meaningful policy and electoral victories across our state.
Young People’s Platform
The Young People's Platform is the official policy platform for the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition for Action, a movement of hundreds of young people across the state. We build power for our generation - young Black, brown, poor, LGBTQ+, and allied folks - to win the schools & future we deserve. While we'll continue to defend the rights of students and educators in their classrooms and in their communities, we want the young people of Georgia to help decide our priorities.
Our issue survey makes the voices and values of young Georgians the foundation of the Young People’s Platform.
